With extensive experience across finance, accounting, auditing, business, and community leadership, Ranjith brings a practical and accountable approach to public service. During his career at the Bank of Montreal, he held progressive roles in finance, risk and controls, and internal audit, developing expertise in financial management, governance, risk management, and accountability. Today, as an accounting and tax consultant and licensed real estate broker, he continues to work closely with individuals, families, and businesses.
His leadership experience also extends beyond the corporate world. Following the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Ranjith served as a Project Officer with People in Need in Sri Lanka, helping lead the delivery of housing projects for families displaced by the disaster. He was responsible for project tendering, cost control, technical coordination, regulatory approvals, and project oversight—ensuring resources were managed responsibly and projects were delivered with accountability and care.

That experience reinforced something that has remained central to his approach to leadership: when people are depending on you, you must listen carefully, manage resources responsibly, solve problems practically, and deliver results.
Ranjith has also demonstrated a long-standing commitment to community service. He served for four years as a Board Director of the Boys and Girls Club of East Scarborough, an organization dedicated to supporting children and youth. He also served for three years as Chair of the Finance Committee and Treasurer, helping provide financial oversight and responsible stewardship of the organization's resources.
For more than a decade, Ranjith has also worked in broadcasting, television, public speaking, and event hosting, connecting with audiences across diverse communities. As a broadcaster, TV host, public speaker, and stage host, he has developed the ability to listen, communicate clearly, bring people together, and engage audiences on a wide range of issues and topics. These experiences have strengthened his belief that effective leadership begins with listening, understanding different perspectives, and communicating openly and respectfully.
These experiences have shaped his belief that effective community leadership is about more than having good intentions—it requires showing up, taking responsibility, managing resources carefully, listening to people, and delivering for the community you serve.
Beyond his professional and volunteer leadership, Ranjith remains actively engaged in community and cultural initiatives, supporting programs that bring people together, strengthen local connections, and create opportunities for families and youth.
As a candidate for Regional Councillor, Ranjith wants to bring this combination of financial expertise, project leadership, community experience, communication skills, and practical problem-solving to Ward 2.
